Journalist and researcher whose career is focused on studies of memory and oral history, as well as on the production of life narratives. She holds a Bachelors degree in Social Communication from Faculdade Cásper Líbero, with an extension course in Applied Journalism from the University of Navarra, and a PhD in Social Psychology from the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo (USP). She has worked for major media outlets, including the newspapers O Estado de S. Paulo and Metro São Paulo, the UOL website, and the publishing house Mythos/Panini, writing on culture, behavior, health, science, and technology. She also served as a correspondent for the Metro International network, publishing stories in 22 countries in addition to Brazil. Wanise is also the author of the books Depois do casulo veio o tempo (After the cocoon came time - 2025) and Entre nós e retalhos de tecidos (Among us and scraps of fabric - 2023), both published by Editora Libertinagem; the popular science book A história dos irmãos gêmeos Tomaz e Gabriel (The story of twin brothers Tomaz and Gabriel - 2024), produced in collaboration with the USP Twin Panel (USP Open Books Portal); and short stories published in anthologies curated by Marcelino Freire and André Vianco. In audiovisual production, she has worked as a screenwriter and director with the teams of two documentaries: Corpos periféricos em TRANSito: memórias e dissidências (Peripheral Bodies in TRANSit: Memories and Dissidence - 2023) and Nhembo'ea Paradoxos da Educação Escola Indígena (Nhembo'ea Paradoxes of Indigenous School Education - 2009).
