Associate Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He holds a teaching degree and a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He earned his master's and doctoral degrees in Education (Sociology of Education) from the University of São Paulo (USP). He completed a research internship at the Complutense University of Madrid. He was a professor at the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG), where he served as Coordinator of the Social Sciences Teaching Program, Coordinator of Art and Culture in the Office of the Pro-Rectory of Extension, and Coordinator of both the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (Pibid) and the Pedagogical Residency Program Social Sciences. He was also a professor at the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) and worked in the training of popular educators. Currently, he is a member of the Structuring Teaching Committee for Social Sciences at UFMG and the Coordinator of the Social Sciences and Humanities Qualification in the Rural Education Teaching Degree Program at UFMG. He is an author of educational textbooks and engages in teaching, outreach, and research in the fields of Social Sciences Education, Social Education, and Sociology of Education. More specifically, his studies focus on socializing practices, creative processes, and social markers of difference, examining their interconnections with school, religion, media, and politics.
