The main focus of this project is the recovery of images using the Wavelet transform. The project will begin with a theoretical study of the Fourier transform, as well as implementations of test programs. As a second step, the basic properties of the Wavelet transform will be studied and test programs will be implemented for the recovery of images.
The problem under investigation is to find an approximate solution for the acoustic wave equation in two-dimensional media. In this project, we intend to study the numerical solution of this equation using a pseudo-spectral method, together with a detailed theoretical study of the method and its computational implementation.
