Igor Maximiliano de Jesus

Bachelor of Arts in Design by São Paulo State University (Unesp/ Bauru) and Master's degree student in Communication and Semiotics at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). His Undergraduate Research was supported by Fapesp - São Paulo State Foundation for Research Support - (2009/ 2010), where studies on the transdisciplinar dimensions of design were developed, exploiting the philosophies and theories that pervade the field, as well as its relations with body and the contemporary art scene (advised by Prof. Dr. Dorival Campos Rossi). Presently, his scope of attention is on the current transition towards a communicative model wherein our bodies and its senses occupy central and hybrid positions in relation to new digital media that have been developed and released. As a means to investigating the matter, the hypothesis that touchscreen technologies have been setting the scene for the coming of such paradigm is adopted, as they trigger new cognitive and perceptive patterns arisen from our intense practice of touch integrated with the sense of sight (research advised by Prof. Dr. Helena Katz, within the Program of Graduate Studies in Communication and Semiotics at PUC-SP).
