Roberto Hirochi Herai

Dr. Herai holds a degree in Computing (UEPG), with a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (UNICAMP) and PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology (UNICAMP). He completed a Postdoctoral Program in Genetics of Microorganisms (UNICAMP) and Postdoctoral in Pediatrics / Cellular and Molecular Medicine (University of California San Diego, USA). HE is a former Research Associate of the University of California San Diego, Associate Researcher of the Graduate Program in Genetics of the Institute of Biology of UNICAMP. Dr. Herai is also a specialist in the field of normative genetic information of ABNT / INMETRO, and Brazilian representative in ISO. Dr. Herai is also a volunteer director of the Scientific Research Division of the Kaesemodel Lico Institute for research on Fragile X Syndrome and related conditions. Currently, he is also Professor of Medicine and Permanent Researcher of the Graduate Program in Health Sciences, at the Medical School of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná / PUCPR (Curitiba, Brazil). Dr. Herai works in the area of #8203;#8203;genetics and bioinformatics, with emphasis on genetic research of autism spectrum disorders, metabolic networks, systems biology, analysis and interpretation of genetic data produced by large-scale genetic sequencing technologies, genetic editing using technique CRISPR. The researcher is also editor and reviewer of scientific journals. He has also published dozens of scientific articles and has directed several works of Scientific Initiation, Master's and Doctorate in the area of #8203;#8203;Genetics / Bioinformatics / Medicine.
