He holds a doctorate (2006) and a master's degree (2004) in Microbiology (emphasis in Mycology) by UFMG, and a degree in Pharmacy (2003) from the same university. He completed postdoctoral training with an emphasis on the host-fungal interaction at USP (2008-2009). He is currently Associated Professor of the Microbiology Department of ICB / UFMG. Has experience in Microbiology / Mycology, with special interest in mechanisms of resistance to antifungal and pathogenicity in models and interaction between fungus and host.
