Rubens obtained a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (2009) and a master's (2012) and doctorare (2015) in Electronic and Computer Engineering, in the area of Systems and Control, from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica. He has been a Professor at the Electronic Engineering Division of Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica from February 2014 until August 2023.
