Associate Professor at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). CNPq level 2 productivity fellow since 2013, deputy coordinator of the Graduate Program in Materials Science, member of the Scientific-Administrative Council of the UFRGS Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center, associate editor of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology, member of the Brazilian Society for Materials Research, and leader of the Laboratory of Applied Materials and Interfaces (registered in 2013, DGP/CNPq). She is also a member of the One Health Network of Rio Grande do Sul and FIOCRUZ. She holds a degree in Chemistry (Bachelors and Teaching Certification) and a PhD in Sciences with a concentration in Chemistry from the State University of Maringá, having conducted part of her research at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada (2009), and completed her postdoctoral research at the Institute of Physics at USP-São Carlos (2010). She has participated in scientific missions at EPFL (Switzerland, 2012 - CNPq) and UVIC (Canada, 2018 CNPq, 2022 CAPES/PRINT, and 2023 CAPES/PRINT). She actively contributes to the Graduate Programs in Chemistry (PPGQ) and Materials Science (PGCiMat), serves as a reviewer for various international journals, and works as an ad-hoc advisor for funding agencies. Her main research areas involve new nanomaterials (metallic and organic/inorganic semiconductors) with applications primarily in sensors and biosensors to address the demands of One Health and the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030.
