Postdoctoral Fellow in Environmental Science & Engineering at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University. He works on renewable energy, biofuel & bioenergy, energy modeling, BECCS, air quality, and wood pellets, obtaining an Intellectual Property (WO2018068111A1) for dioxins and corrosive gases reduction from biomass combustion. Javier is also Lead Brazilian Contributor in the UN Environment, Renewable Global Status Report (REN21); Entrepreneurship Director at Harvard GSAS Business Club; and serves as a Council Member at Harvard Council of Student Sustainability Leaders. He holds his PhD. in Energy (2016) at the Institute of Energy and Environment at University of São Paulo (IEE, USP). Under the supervision of José Goldemberg, Javier was recognized with the highest honors from University of São Paulo (Brazil) obtaining the (USP Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award 2017). He also was a visiting PhD. at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University, Netherlands. MSc in Forest Products Technology (2011) at São Paulo State University (FCA, UNESP) and BA in Forestry Engineer at Faculty of Agronomy and Forestry (2009). He has been selected by OÖ Energiesparverband (Intelligent Energy Europe) to represent Brazil at World Sustainable Energy Days (Young Researcher's 2015), Austria, in the same year, he has received the (Brazilian Prize of Innovation and Technology on Bioenergy). From (2012 to 2018) he was a researcher at the Gbio, Research Group on Bioenergy, (former Brazilian Reference Center on Biomass, CENBIO) where he published several articles. He participated in important national and international technical reports, such as Renewable Global Status Report (REN21), International Energy Agency (IEA, bioenergy), Global Network of Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD), Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). He also was a Cátedra José Bonifácio?s member at USP IberoAmerican Centre, writing book chapters in the context of Latin American Governance and Sustainable Resources along with Ricardo Lagos (ex. Chilean President), and Enrique Iglesias (former President of The Inter-American Development Bank, IDB). He has served as a professor in the MBA program: "Renewable Energies: Generation and Energy Efficiency" at Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. Recently, Javier received the (First place - 2021 Pitch Deck Competition at Harvard GSAS Business Club); and (Spark Grants) by Harvard Innovation Labs. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
