Biologist at Sao Paulo State University - UNESP Campus Rio Claro. During the graduation, had a training period at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing - BAM, Germany. PhD in Biological Sciences, area of Zoology, at UNESP, Campus Rio Claro. Developed part of his PhD thesis at Université Paul Sabatiér - Toulouse III, France, at the Centre de Recherches sur la Cognition Animale - CRCA, now CBI - Centre de Biologie Intégrative. He was a post-doc at Department of Biology - IBRC - UNESP and at Department of Entomology, North Carolina State University - NCSU, United States of America. He was professor of Zoology and Ecology at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), and currently is professor of Invertebrates at Federal University of ABC (UFABC).
