Ana Flavia Magalhaes Pinto has a PhD in History from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) (2014), a Master degree in History from the University of Brasilia (UnB) (2006); undergraduate in Journalism from the University Center of Brasilia [Centro Universitário de Brasília] (2001); and in History (ungraduation) at the University Paulista (2017). She was a Postdoctoral Researcher in History at Unicamp (2015-2017) and now is colaborating with the Department of History of the University of Brasilia. Since the first graduation, she develops research into the work of black writers, black press and experiences of freedom and citizenship. She has experience in the areas of History, Literature and Communication, with emphasis on the History of Brazil, Transnational History and Black Diaspora Studies, mainly in the following themes: journalism, black press, black intelligentsia, freedom, citizenship and black diaspora.
