Received his MD degree from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1965) and doctorate at Byophysics from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1974). Is a retired Full Professor from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and University of São Paulo. At the moment he acts as a Visiting Researcher at the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz in Rio de Janeiro. Is Professor Emeritus at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Has experience in biophysics and Immunology with special emphasis in cellular immunology.
