Maurício Polidoro holds a degree in Geography (2010), a Ph.D. in Geography (2016) and a postdoctoral degree in Public Health at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (Campus Porto Alegre), vice coordinator of the Thematic Group (GT) on Health and Environment, and member of the GT on Health for the LGBT Population of the Brazilian Association of Collective Health (ABRASCO). He is a permanent professor at the Professional Master's in Family Health (FIOCRUZ/UFRGS). He is interested in teaching, research, and extension activities in the areas of Geography and Health Sciences. He is the Health, Environment, and Development research group leader. He has experience in the areas of Geography and Public Health, working mainly on the following topics: urban and regional studies, geographic information systems, health information systems, education, health promotion, and vulnerable populations.
