Giovani Bravin Peres

Giovani Bravin Peres holds a Bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences (B.Sc. in Biomedicine) from the Escola Paulista de Medicina, Federal University of São Paulo (EPM-UNIFESP, 2009), a Master's degree (2012) and a Doctorate (Ph.D., 2016) in Sciences from the Graduate Program in Molecular Biology at EPM-UNIFESP (CAPES rating 7), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yara M. Michelacci. He also holds a Specialization in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV, 2014). Currently, he is a Full Professor at Universidade Paulista (UNIP), working in the Graduate Program in Environmental and Experimental Pathology (Veterinary Medicine) and in the undergraduate programs in Medicine and Biomedicine. He is also a Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSP), teaching in the Graduate Program in Advanced Therapies: Molecular Basis of Gene and Cell Therapy, as well as in the undergraduate courses of Biomedicine and Pharmacy. He has published 28 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 22 abstracts in conference proceedings. He has authored 3 books, 3 book chapters, and participated in the translation team of 1 book in Brazil. He has experience in: a) education, teaching from from pre-university preparatory courses to postgraduate education, also acting in Coordination roles and in the development and translation of educational materials; b) academic research in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with emphasis on Glycoconjugates, working mainly on the following topics: lysosomal enzymes, matrix metalloproteinases, glycosaminoglycans and extracellular matrix proteoglycans, diabetes mellitus, and diabetic nephropathy; c) collaborative management and business administration.
