Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Faculdade de Odontologia (FO)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Associate Professor at the Department of Biomaterials and Oral Biology, School of Dentistry, University of São Paulo (FOUSP). She earned her DDS degree from the University of São Paulo in 1997, where she also completed her Master's (1999) and PhD (2002) in Dental Materials, as well as her Habilitation (2010) in Biomaterials and Oral Biology. She was a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota, USA (07/2009 to 12/2009), and at the University of Sydney, Australia (08/2010 to 08/2011). Her research focuses on the application of the finite element method to analyze biomechanical failures relevant to dentistry, adopting a transdisciplinary approach. Current projects involve simulations of peri-implant bone loss, orthodontically induced root resorption, and fracture of CAD-CAM crowns supported by either implants or natural teeth. These studies are designed to use input and output parameters aligned with the clinical failure mechanisms under investigation and aim to validate numerical findings through systematic reviews of clinical studies. She coordinates the course Finite Elements in Dentistry (FinO), offered by the USP Office of Culture and Extension, which is open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as dental professionals. She maintains strong international collaborations with researchers Alex Fok (University of Minnesota, USA), Paolo Maria Cattaneo (University of Melbourne, Australia), Antheunis Versluis (University of Tennessee Health Science Center, USA), and Michael V. Swain (University of Sydney, Australia). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
