Received a DDS degree from the Araçatuba Dental School (FOA-UNESP), with Master of Science in Restorative Dentistry at the same institution and Ph.D. in Dental Materials at Piracicaba Dental School (FOP-UNICAMP). Participated as a Visiting Research Scholar at University of Illinois at Chicago for six months, at University of Oulu, Finland, for six months, and conducted a postdoctoral research training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Laboratory of Biomaterials and Interfaces for two years. Currently, she is Assistant Professor at the Department of Operative Dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. Research focus includes the study of adhesive materials and factors involved in the degradation of the dentin organic matrix in adhesive interfaces and caries progression, with emphasis on collagen, proteoglycans and collagen cross-linkers that promote dentin biomodification.
