Eduardo Cararo Lopes

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2012), with specialized training in cell cycle and growth factor activity in human keratinocytes. Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same institution (2017), focusing on metabolism and cell signaling during the malignant transformation of cervical cancer. Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Rutgers Cancer Institute, New Jersey, USA (2022), specializing in tumor metabolism with an emphasis on mitochondrial biology in lung and thyroid cancers. Currently, he is an associate researcher at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.He has extensive experience in Biochemistry, primarily working in the areas of tumor metabolism, cell signaling, and mitochondrial metabolism. He has worked with lung, cervical, thyroid, and renal cancers, utilizing techniques in human and mouse cell culture, genetically modified animal models, and patient samples.His work stands out for the integration of advanced knowledge in cell and molecular biology, applied to the study of tumor processes and the search for new therapeutic targets by identifying metabolic vulnerabilities in malignant cells.
