Bachelor's in Biology from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1996), Master's in Genetics from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1999) and PhD in Genetics from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2004) focusing on the molecular biology of pathogenic fungi in Brazil. Stayed at Stanford University from 2001 to 2008 at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine working on DNA microarrays for gene expression studies on dimorphism in pathogenic fungi. Has experience in Genetics, focusing on Molecular Genetics and of Microorganisms, acting on the following subjects: parasitology, microbiology, molecular markers, gene expression, DNA microarrays e genomics. Currently based at Embrapa Goats and Sheep (Sobral, Ceará State, Brazil) as a Research Scientist focusing in Advanced Biology and Animal Health. Recipient of productivity grants from Ceará State Foundation for Support of Scientific and Technologic Development (FUNCAP) from 2012 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2018. Current research lines include molecular diagnostics of anthelmintic resistance (test development and field application), novel anthelmintics and the genetic basis of anthelmintic resistance.
