He holds a degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1993), a master's degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1995) and a PhD in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (2002). He is currently Titular Professor of the Department of Plant Science at the Federal University of Santa Maria. He works in the area of Experimental Statistics, with emphasis on Experimental Techniques, Experiment Planning, Biometrics applied to Plant Genetic Improvement and Sampling, working mainly on the following topics: experimental planning, experimental precision, biometric models, sampling, applied statistics, cultivars evaluation.
