César Augusto Paro

Popular Health Educator. Temporary professor at the Institute of Studies in Collective Health at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. PhD student in Collective Health in the Graduate Program in Collective Health at the Institute of Studies in Collective Health at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with a period as guest PhD in Global Health Section at the Copenhagen University (2019-2020). He has bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at University of Campinas - Unicamp (2012); multi-professional residency in Collective Health at UFRJ (2015); artistic residencies in Art and Health at Federal University of Pernambuco - UFPE (2018) and in Theater of the Oppressed at Theater of the Oppressed Center - CTO (2014); specializations in Health Care Network Management at Oswaldo Cruz Foundation - FIOCRUZ (2017) and in Health Care Management at UERJ (2015); and master in Collective Health at Rio de Janeiro State University - UERJ (2017). He has been working as a consultant on human rights and popular health education in Rio de Janeiro and other Brazilian cities with non-governmental organizations, such as CEPIA, Grito dos Excluídos and Grupo Pela-Vidda. César is actor and performer with experiences on Theater of the Oppressed, Clown, and Urban Performance. Member of the Thematic Group on Popular Education and Health of the Brazilian Association of Collective Health - GT EPS-ABRASCO, the Study Group on Theater of the Oppressed - GESTO, the Laboratory for Human Rights and Health - LIDHS/UFRJ, the Laboratory for Studies in Primary Healthcare - LEAP/UFRJ, the National Articulation of Movements and Practices of Popular Education and Health in Rio de Janeiro - ANEPS-RJ, the Committee for Popular Health Education in Rio de Janeiro State.. He develops teaching, research and extension activities on the following themes: social technologies; health education; permanent health education; health professional training; health promotion and disease prevention; health care; integrality in health; health rights; human rights; artistic health practices; and theater for non-actors.
