Graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Southern Santa Catarina (1984); specialization in Quality Engineering (1994) and master's degree in Materials Engineering (1999) from the School of Chemical Engineering of Lorena - USP; PhD in Catalysis and Physical Chemistry from the Université de Strasbourg, France (2003). Ricardo Vieira worked for thirty-five years at the Combustion and Propulsion Laboratory of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in Cachoeira Paulista, SP. Has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on Heterogeneous Catalysis and Propulsion, working mainly on the following subjects: synthesis and use of carbon nanofibers as catalytic support and reinforcement of advanced polymeric materials, green propellants, satellite thrusters, catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and nitrous oxide. Currently retired from INPE, partner of the company ACM Vieira Aprimoramentos, providing consultancy to Peroxidos do Brasil in Curitiba, PR, in the development of catalysts and recovery of noble metals.
