Raphael Barbosa holds a BA in Portuguese-English from UEG, an MA and a PhD in Linguistics from State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). I hold a post-doctorate from the University of São Paulo (USP) and from the University of Münster (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität - WWU). I received a research grant from the São Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP) for his master's, doctorate and post-doctoral internships. I am currently an adjunct professor in English Language at the Federal University of Northern Tocantins (UFNT). My research is based on functional linguistics, with a focus on morphology and its interfaces with phonology and syntax. I have experience in describing, comparing and analyzing Amazonian languages, in particular those of the Pano family and the Matis language. My main topics of interest are grammaticalization, ergativity, word formation and referential processes. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
