Vinicius Spricigo is a PhD from the University of São Paulo. His research focuses on the study of exhibitions, and he has published extensively on São Paulo Biennial and other periodic large-scale contemporary art exhibitions in Brazilian and international journals, and contributed to book chapters among others Flusseriana: an Intellectual Toolbox. Minneapolis: Univocal, 2015 and the Biennial Reader and German Art in São Paulo, both published by Hatje Cantz. Before his current position as Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo in the Department of Art History, he gained a more significant international experience at the Interdisziplinäres Institut für Historische Anthropologie at Freie Universität Berlin in 2012, and the Art dans la Mondialisation program at the Institut National de Histoire de l'Art in Paris in 2013. More recently, he was a visiting scholar at the Research Centre for Transnational Art Identity and Nation at the University of the Arts London in 2019 and a partner of the Project Art and Power supported by the Connecting Art Histories Initiative of The Getty Foundation (2022-2024).
