Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry (emphasis in Materials Science) by the University of São Paulo - São Carlos Institute of Chemistry (2009). Master of Sciences (2012) and Doctor of Sciences (2017) by the IQSC-USP Chemistry Program (Physical Chemistry). A visiting student at the University of Chicago studying Quantum Dots syntheses for optical devices applications in the Prof. Dmitri Talapin Group (2014-2015). Currently, Joao is a Researcher at the Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano), Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) and a Visiting Professor at the IQ-UNICAMP. His research focused on advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques for nanostructured and self-assembled systems aiming energy applications. His research interests include nanotechnology, especially the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials using new advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques, pair distribution function (PDF), TEM image treatment and X-ray scattering techniques.
