Alan Delazeri Mocellim

Alan Mocellim is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and in the Postgraduate Program in Social Sciences at the same institution. He has a degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and in Psychology from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). He has a Master's degree in Political Sociology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and a PhD in Sociology from the University of São Paulo (USP). He is deputy coordinator of the UFBA Digital Humanities Laboratory (LABHD) and member of the Research group in Cultural Psychology: Culture, Language, Transitions and Developmental Trajectories (CULTS). He works in the areas of Sociological Theory, Sociology of Emotions, Sociology of Knowledge, Political Psychology, Cultural Psychology and Epistemology of Human Sciences. His research interests and guidance include the following themes: theories of modernization, rationalization and individualization; theories of agency and rationality; theories of self and personality; relationships between sociology and psychology; epistemological problems of the human sciences; denialism, anti-science and pseudoscience; conflicts between religions and sciences; technological imaginary and scientific gnosticism; digital sociabilities; emotions and cognitions in politics; collective narcissism and intergroup hostility; emotional suffering in contexts; cultural trauma and collective suffering; loving relationships.
