Luiz Eugênio Garcez Leme

Graduated in Medicine from the University of São Paulo (1976) and PhD in Cardio-Pneumology from the University of São Paulo (1994). Coordinator of Elderly Health at São Paulo City Hall from 1994 to 1998. Associate Professor at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo in 2004. Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics course in 2006. Currently is a Full Professor and Senior Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He is a Full Professor at the São Camilo University Center in São Paulo. Has experience in Medicine, with emphasis on geriatrics and gerontology of the locomotor system, working mainly on the following topics: aging, degeneration and locomotor trauma in senescence and senility, locomotor system, geriatrics and gerontology, Pre and postoperative, medical education, bioethics. He is the leader of the Research Group Study of Interventions in the Prevention of Recurrent Falls in the Elderly (PrevQuedas Brasil). He is the leader of the research group Interprofessional approach to emergencies in frail elderly people. He is Vice-President of the Associação Paulista de Medicina. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo He is a member of the Higher Council for National Studies and Politics of the Federation of Industry of the State of São Paulo (FIESP) from Sao Paulo.
