Leonardo da Silva Lessa

He possesses a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering, with a bachelors degree from São Paulo State University (UNESP), followed by a masters and doctoral degree in the same field. His academic expertise includes research in electric power systems, specifically in fault location, fault classification, and distribution network protection. His work also encompasses numerical methods and simulations of electromagnetic transient phenomena. Currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of São Paulo (USP), he is involved in innovative research projects, including the development of intelligent diagnostic systems for fault location in wind farm networks, utilizing artificial intelligence and drone-based visual inspection. Additionally, he investigates the impacts of distributed generation on smart grids, proposing solutions to integrate renewable energy sources with existing electrical infrastructure, thus contributing to enhanced energy distribution and quality.
