João Vitor de Carvalho Fontes

He is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEMEC) at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Previously, he served as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEMec) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), São Carlos campus, from 2019 to 2024. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Dynamics and Mechatronics from the University of São Paulo, School of Engineering of São Carlos (EESC/USP). He also earned his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Machine and System Dynamics, and his Bachelors degree in Mechatronics Engineering, both from EESC/USP. His primary research interests include parallel kinematics manipulators, performance improvement of manipulators, manipulator control, cable-driven manipulators, mobile robotics, UAV control, navigation algorithms, and data fusion.
