Dr Marin has a degree in Nursing from the Federal University of São Paulo (1983), a master's degree in Nursing (UNIFESP, 1991) and a PhD in Science with an emphasis on Health Informatics from UNIFESP (1994). In 1989, she joined as assistant professor of the Obstetrics Discipline of the Nursing Department of the Escola Paulista de Medicina. He completed a post-doctorate in Clinical Informatics at the Center for Clinical Computing at Harvard Medical School, Harvard University from 1996 to 1998. In 2001 he took the "Livre-Docente" competition at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. In 2004, he received the title of Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, being the first Brazilian appointed to this Faculty. In 2006, he became a Full Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo, defending technology and communication in nursing and health. She was President of the Brazilian Society of Health Informatics from 2004 to 2008 and Vice-President from 2010 to 2013. In 2009, she became Director of the Postgraduate Program in Health Informatics, restructured in 2010 to Management and Health Informatics. She also chaired the IMIA NI SIG (International Medical Informatics Association Nursing Informatics Special Interest Group) 2009-2012, a group bringing together more than 32 countries to address global goals in nursing informatics. From 2010 to January 2013 he was Executive Coordinator of the Strategic Committee of the Information Technology and Management Committee of UNIFESP, member of the University Hospital/Hospital São Paulo. She was associate editor of the International Journal of Medical Informatics. In 2009, she founded the Journal of Health Informatics of the Brazilian Society of Health Informatics. She was invited by CETIC (Center for Research and Statistics) to the NIC.BR-Núcleo de Informação e Ponto de Coordenação BR to scientifically coordinate the Information Technologies project and Communication ICT BRAZIL. She was Vice-Rector of Nursing at UNIFESP (2013-2015). Dr Marin coordinated the Specialization Course in Health Informatics at the Teaching and Research Institute of Hospital Sírio Libanês (2017-2020). Dr Marin worked as a consultant at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz. She also worked as a consultant for WHO-EURO on the Guidance on Digitalization for Health Information System project.
