Bachelor in Journalism (1974), and also in Social Sciences, Universidade de São Paulo (1983). Master in History, Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1985). M. Phil. in History (1991), and Ph.D. in History (1993), Columbia University. Two major fields: history of the United States and Brazil with a focus on the following subjects: racism and anti-racism, abolitionism and slavery in a comparative perspective, freemasonry, theories of history. After retiring from the State University of Campinas, she has published a number of articles and books of history. Lately she has opened herself a new path in fiction by publishing a novel, and also a book for children. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
