Prof. Benedito Braga holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University, USA in water resources. He is a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and has served in the board of Directors of the Brazilian National Water Agency ANA from 2001 - 2009. He was President of the International Water Resources Association from 1998-2000 and presently is Vice-President of the World Water Council and President of the International Committee of the 6th World Water Forum Marseille 2012. Prof. Braga is an active researcher in the field of conflict resolution and multiobjective water resources decision making processes with stakeholder participation. He has participated in several international committees promoting the concept of integrated water resources management. He is the author of more than 200 articles and 25 books and chapters of books on the subject of water management at international level. Prof. Braga is recipient of the 2002 Crystal Drop Award, given by the International Water Resources Association IWRA in recognition for his life time achievements in the area of water resources management.
