Eva Alterman Blay has master and doctorate degree in Sociology at University of São Paulo . Postdoctoral degree at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, . She created the first undergraduate and postgraduate course on women at the University of São Paulo. Prof. Blay was the founder and President of the Center for Rural and Urban Studies (CERU) and in 1980 she founded NEMGE, the Center for Women's Studies and Social Relations of Gender, Interregional Adviser for Women Development at Viena UN Office (1992) She was the first President of the Female Council of the State of Paulo (1983-85), Senator of the Republic . She is currently a Senior Professor at the University of São Paulo and was indicated to act as an Advisor of USP WOMEN / HeForShe program at UN. Prof Blay has published many books and articles on urban issues, workers housing, women's political participation, Violence against women, Feminism and masculinities, Human Rights and Jewish immigration. Consultant of Catedra Convidada Infante Don Henrique para estudos insulares, Atlânticos e a Globalização.
