Professor at the University of São Paulo, based at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP) and in the Graduate Program in Information Science at the Federal University of São Carlos. Holds a Livre-Docência (Postdoctoral Habilitation) from USP (2024), a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of Brasília, with a doctoral internship at the Université de Montréal (20022003). Holds degrees in Communication and in Library and Information Science, both from USP.Since 1994, she has worked full-time as a professor and researcher, contributing to the academic formation of several generations in three Brazilian public universities. She served as an associate researcher at Unicamp and as a visiting professor at McGill University (Canada), the University of Málaga (Spain), and the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (India), with strong engagement in SouthSouth cooperation networks and global scientific exchange.Her international and interdisciplinary trajectory is marked by leadership in projects on health literacy, digital technologies, and frugal innovation focused on vulnerable populations. She coordinates digital health initiatives with regional and global impact, integrating scientific information, social justice, and artificial intelligence.She is the coordinator of CONFLUÊNCIA: Advanced Study Group on Technology and Health Information with a Focus on Vulnerable Populations, affiliated with the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo.She is also a member of scientific associations in Brazil, Asia, and Europe, including ANCIB (National Association of Research and Graduate Studies in Information Science), AHLA (Asian Health Literacy Association), IHLA (International Health Literacy Association), and ABEC (Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors). She supervises undergraduate and graduate students, serves as a peer reviewer for academic journals, and is the author of books, journal articles, and science communication texts. Her research interests include: health information, evidence-based practice, clinical terminologies, digital communication, responsible innovation, and the concept of bond as a foundation for health practice.Position of speech: Brazilian woman, white, neurodivergent, married, mother of twins Cássia and Nicolas.
