B.S. and Licentiate in Biological Sciences at the Izabela Hendrix Methodist University Center (Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil, 2004), M.Sc. (2010) and PhD (2014) in Plant Biodiversity and Environment at the Institute of Botany (São Paulo, SP, Brazil). The principal areas of expertise are taxonomy, systematics and phylogeny of Angiosperms, especially of Orchidaceae. He did a research internship at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico, 2013) and postdoctoral research at the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil, 2015), in the area of molecular systematics. Collaborator researcher at the Institute of Botany, working in the taxonomy of five genera of orchids (2016-20); and at the Herbarium Ipê (São José, SC, Brazil), working on floristic inventories and taxonomic treatments (2018-19). He also worked as a teacher for the State of São Paulo (2007-08) and as an autonomous environmental consultant (2014-18). He is currently a fellow researcher at the National Institute of the Atlantic Forest (Santa Teresa, ES, Brazil), working in the taxonomy and conservation of orchids in the State of Espírito Santo and in areas of rocky fields in the Atlantic Forest (2022-).
