Jefferson de Oliveira Gomes

He holds a bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina - UFSC, in cooperation with RWTH-Aachen - Germany (2001). Since January 2004, he has been professor at Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), located in the Center of Competence in Manufacturing - CCM. Since 2017, he has been the Director of the Fraunhofer Project Center FPC@ITA, a cooperative relationship between the Fraunhofer Society and the Center of Competence in Manufacturing at ITA. He provided consultant services for the World Economic Forum (WEF), UNESCO on topics related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the World Bank on Technological Education of the Future. He has held the positions of Director, Superintendent, and Executive Manager of Innovation and Technology at SENAI-DN; Regional Director and Director of Innovation at SENAI - Regional Department of Santa Catarina (DR-SC); and President of the Institute for Technological Research (IPT). Currently, he is a FAPESP Principal Investigator at the IAsmin Platform, one of the six Innovation Centers in Artificial Intelligence in Brazil, and Director of Industrial Development, Technology and Innovation at the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). He supervises research at the postgraduate (doctoral and master's) and undergraduate levels, and is a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow. He has industrial and academic experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Mechanical and Production Engineering, mainly working on the following topics: performance analysis of manufacturing processes, organizational and technological performance analysis of industrial plants, support for industrial decision-making, sustainability in manufacturing processes, and innovation management.
