Vanessa Ferreira de Almeida

Vanessa Ferreira is a third year PhD student at University of Seville (Spain) with a grant from CNPq. Her thesis focuses on thermal conversion of waste-derived fuels in fluidized bed. During her PhD she has performed two research stays, one at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, USA) and another at VTT Research Center (Espoo, Finland). She is a chemical Engineering graduated at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), and has Master's Degree of Energy and Fuels for the Future at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) that was granted by the Iberdrola Company. Her research is focused on renewable energy sources, specifically the conversion of wastes to energy. During her undergraduate studies she has had the academic experiences mentioned below. Scientific Initiation with FAPESP scholarship at the Laboratório de Nanotecnologia e Energia Solar (LNES) at the Chemistry Department of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2011). Academic exchange at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP), Mexico, with Santander Universidades scholarship (2012). Internship in Chemical Engineering at the Refinery of Paulínia, REPLAN, Petrobras (2013). Fellow of the Science without Frontiers program (CNPq) at the Universidad de Granada (UGR), Spain (2014). Internship at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Universidad de Granada, research in biodiesel production. Scientific Initiation project is in progress about microalgae growth aiming biodisel production at the Department of Chemical Engineering of UNICAMP and Internship at CIEMAT, Madrid, in waste valorization (2016).
