Vera Quecini has a bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering from Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, USP, master of sciences degree in Agricultural Microbiology from Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, USP and a PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, USP. She worked as a post-doctoral research assistant in Wageningen Agricultural University under the supervision of Dr. Richard E. Kendrick and Dr. Maarten Koornneef, where she studied photoperception, light signal transduction and the circadian clock in tomato and Arabidopsis. She worked as post-doctoral research assistant at the University of Missouri, Columbia, under the supervision of Dr. Emmanuel Liscum, investigating the molecular function of the NRL family NRL (NPH3-, RPT2-like), involved in phototropic responses in Arabidopsis. She worked as scientific researcher at Instituto Agronômico de Campinas, in the Genetic Resources Center and currently works as scientific researcher in the field of advanced biology, functional and structural genomics, at the National Center of Grapevine and Wine Research at Embrapa.
