Felipe da Silva Krawczak

Veterinarian, graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), with an academic exchange at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Holds a Master's and Ph.D. in Science from the University of São Paulo (FMVZ/USP), with an emphasis on Experimental Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses, particularly focusing on the epidemiology of spotted fever and parasitic diseases. During the Ph.D., part of the research was conducted at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, USA, in 2015, focusing on rickettsial phylogeny. In 2018, completed a Postdoctoral fellowship at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ/USP), investigating cross-immunity induction between Rickettsia parkeri and Rickettsia rickettsii. Expertise in tick-borne diseases, leishmaniasis, parasitic zoonoses, epidemiology, molecular biology, serological diagnostics, and cell culture of Ehrlichia and Rickettsia. Possesses scientific and teaching experience in parasitology and parasitic diseases, as well as serving as a scientific reviewer and author of various articles in national and international journals. Currently, an Adjunct Professor in the course of Parasitic Diseases of Animals and Research Coordinator (2023-2025) at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), as well as Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Animal Science at UFG (2024-2025). Has established collaborative partnerships in research projects with several national institutions, such as USP, UNESP, UNIVASF, UFMT, UFPR, UFJ, UDESC, and UFRGS, as well as international collaborations with the Instituto Conmemorativo Gorgas de Estudios de la Salud (Panama) and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (USA).
