Richard Theisen Simanke

Graduated in Psychology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Master in Philosophy and Methodology of Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos (1992) and PhD in Philosophy from USP (1997). He was a professor at the Federal University of São Carlos between 1994 and 2012. He is currently Full Professor in the Psychology Department at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Author, among other works, of BETWEEN BODY AND CONSCIOUSNESS (co-authored with Fátima Caropreso; EDUFSCar, 2011), THE DEVELOPMENT OF FREUD'S THEORY OF PSYCHOSIS (Ed. 34, 1994; 2.ed. Edições Loyola, 2009), LACANIAN METAPSYCHOLOGY: THE EARLY YEARS (Discurso, 2002). Professor and master's supervisor of the Philosophy Postgraduate Programme at UFJF since February 2017. Editor-in-chief of REVISTA PSICOLOGIA EM PESQUISA from August 2014 to August 2016. His main areas of expertise have been: history and philosophy of psychology and psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic theory, philosophy of psychoanalysis, history and philosophy of science, phenomenology and epistemology.
