Birthplace: Brazil

Ana Carolina Tonetti (www.caroltonetti.net/) holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism at FAU Mackenzie (1998) and a masters (2012) and doctorate (2020) from FAU-USP, with a concentration in Project, Space, and Culture. Since 2003, she has been an associate professor at Escola da Cidade, where, from 2013 to 2019, she coordinated the Expression Media sequence, restructuring courses dedicated to drawing, graphic representation, and digital media, exploring the intersections between art, architecture, and design. Currently, at the same institution, she coordinates the lato sensu postgraduate program in Architecture, Education, and Society, as well as the Vertical Studio in the undergraduate program, where she also supervises final projects. Her work spans art, design, and architecture, exploring the possibilities of an integrated approach to these fields in both teaching and research. This exploration, covering multiple scales and modes of operation, from art objects and visual narratives to spatial interventions, is present both in her academic practice and in her work with O Grupo Inteiro (2014 - www.ogrupointeiro.net/). Tonetti is also involved in managing artistic and socio-cultural projects, such as her tenure directing the Culture and Participation Center at Instituto Tomie Ohtake (2022 to 2024), and she participates in the Art Science Technology Research Group based at the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP São Carlos.
