Marileide Dias Esqueda

Associate Professor of the Graduate Program in Linguistics and the Undergraduate Program in Translation at the Federal University of Uberlandia. She holds a PhD and Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics to Translation Studies at the State University of Campinas (1999 and 2005, respectively). She completed a post-doctoral internship in Translation Studies at the University of Montreal, Canada (2018-2019). Her second post-doctoral internship was completed at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2023-2024) in the same discipline. She also holds a BA in English-Portuguese Translation from the University of Sagrado Coração (1995), a BA in Education (2024), and in Portuguese and Spanish (2025) from the University of Uberaba. She completed teaching internships in Translation through the Intercampus Program at the University of Extremadura and the University of León, in Spain (1997-1998). She served as the President of the Executive Board of ABRAPT (Brazilian Association of Translation Researchers) from 2014 to 2016. She served as the President of the Board of Jatradi -UFU (Academic Forum of Translation and Interpreting) from 2021 to 2025. She is the leader and researcher of the Translation, Technology, Teaching and Scientometrics Study and Research Group (GETTEC).
