Graduated in Speech Therapy from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1971), Master in Applied Linguistics to Language Teaching from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1981) and Ph.D. in Human Communication Disorders (Speech Therapy) from the Federal University of São Paulo/ Escola Paulista de Medicina (1990). She is currently a professor at the Department of Theories and Methods of Speech Therapy and Physiotherapy at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. In the Voice, Communication, Health and Art Research Line, he teaches and guides research on professional voice, especially those related to the teacher's voice. This production helped in the discussions for the recognition of Work-Related Voice Disorder (DVRT) and consequent publication of the DVRT Protocol, by the Ministry of Health. He was president of the Regional Council of Speech Therapy (1989-92), and of the Brazilian Society of Speech Therapy ( 2002-3). He was Vice President of the Brazilian Society of Speech Therapy - 2017-2019. She is currently executive editor of the Distúrbios da Comunicação magazine and Coordinator of the Voice Laboratory (LaborVox) at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. He works as a reviewer or member of the Editorial Board of CEFAC, CoDAS, Audiology Communication Research, and Saúde em Revista journals. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
