Moacir Gadotti received his habilitation (Livre-Docência/Doctorat d'Etat) at the University of Campinas (Unicamp, 1986) and Ph.D. in Educational Sciences at the University of Geneva (Switzerland, 1977). Master of Philosophy of Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP, 1973). Degree in Pedagogy (1967) and Philosophy (1971). Retired professor from the Faculty of Education, University of São Paulo (FEUSP), he was professor of History and Philosophy of Education to undergraduate and graduate education and professor of Philosophy from various institutions, including the Catholic University of Sao Paulo, Campinas State University and the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. He was technical adviser to the State Board of Education of São Paulo (1983-1984) and head of the Office of the Municipal Education of the Municipality of São Paulo (1989-1990) at the management of Paulo Freire. He is currently chairman of the board of the Paulo Freire Institute. He has a large number of publications in developing an educational approach whose axes are the critical formation of the educator and the construction of the Citizenship School, in a dialectical perspective, integrating education and guided by the paradigm of "planetariedade".
