Sérgio Cardoso

Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (1969), bachelor's degree in Philosophy (Licenciatura) from the Faculdade de Filosofia Nossa Senhora Medianeira (1971), Diplôme d'Études Approfondies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (1979), PhD in Philosophy from the Universidade de São Paulo (1990). He is currently a Senior Professor at the University of São Paulo, in the Department of Philosophy at FFLCH-USP, in the area of Ethics and Political Philosophy. Has experience in Philosophy, focusing on Political Thought and Ethics, acting on the following subjects: Polical Philosophy, Republican tradition from Antiquity to the Renaissance, Machiavelli and Montaigne.
