Lilane Santos has a Bachelor's degree "Letras - Português", from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1986); a Bachelor's degree "Licenciatura em Letras - Português", from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1986); and a Bachelor's degree "Bacharelado em Lingüística", from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1989). She has a Master's degree in Linguistics, from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1990); a Master's degree in Sciences du Langage, from Université de Nancy 2 (1992) and a Doctorate in Sciences du Langage from Université de Nancy 2 (1996), in France. Currently, she is the head of the Master's Degree in Portuguese Studies at Université de Lille (France), being also the local head of CLES (Higher Education Language Skills Certification) for Arabic, Italian, Modern Greec, Polish, Portuguese and Russian. She also is a translator-interpreter with the International Criminal Court (The Hague, Netherlands) and a Sworn Translator-Interpreter by the Appeal Court from Douai (France). She works on Linguistics, with focus on Linguistics Theory and Analysis, Applied Linguistics and, more specifically, on Portuguese for foreigners teaching, translation and use of ICT in education.
