Ethologist, with a Bachelors degree in Physical Anthropology from San Diego State University (1984), and with Masters degree (1990) and PhD (1995) in Psychology from the University of São Paulo. Worked as a postdoc toral lecturer and researcher at the Department of Experimental Psychology - USP (1995-1997), and as professor titular at the Department of Psychology Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (1998- 2010). Professor adjunto at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Brasília (UnB) since march of 2010. Previous research has focused on Animal Behavior and Cognition (e.g. tool use, human-monkey relationships, communication, behavioral ecology), with emphasis on naturalistic studies of behavior, and on Evolutionary Psychology (e.g. agressiveness, food neophobia and reproductive strategies in humans). Current themes of research include the study of the vocal communication of neotropical primates and the behavior of urban monkeys. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
