Ethologist, with a Bachelors degree in Physical Anthropology from San Diego State University (1984), and with Masters degree (1990) and PhD (1995) in Psychology from the University of São Paulo. Worked as a postdoc toral lecturer and researcher at the Department of Experimental Psychology - USP (1995-1997), and as professor titular at the Department of Psychology Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (1998- 2010). Professor adjunto at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Brasília (UnB) since march of 2010. Previous research has focused on Animal Behavior and Cognition (e.g. tool use, human-monkey relationships, communication, behavioral ecology), with emphasis on naturalistic studies of behavior, and on Evolutionary Psychology (e.g. agressiveness, food neophobia and reproductive strategies in humans).
