I hold a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Alfenas (2008), a Master's degree in Food and Nutrition from the Food Engineering Faculty of the State University of Campinas (2011), and a PhD in Sciences (2015), with an emphasis on Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology, from the Medical Sciences Faculty of the State University of Campinas. I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Cellular Signaling Laboratory, part of the Obesity and Comorbidities Research Center (OCRC), Medical Sciences Faculty, Unicamp, for 2 years. After that, I worked for nearly 5 years as an associated researcher at the Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Since 2022, I have been the principal investigator of the metabolism research unit at the German Mouse Clinic - Helmholtz Munich, Germany. My areas of interest include physiology, metabolism, cellular and molecular biology, with a specific focus on: regulation of energy homeostasis, obesity, and associated diseases.
