Associate Professor and Researcher at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM/RS) Graduate Program in Performing Arts and Bachelors Degree in Dance working primarily in the courses Dances of Brazil and Creative Processes, integrating teaching, research, and community outreach through a counter-colonial approach. He holds a Ph.D. (2016) and a Masters degree (2012) in Performing Arts from the Graduate Program in Performing Arts at the Institute of the Arts of the University of Campinas (IA/UNICAMP), both supervised by Professor Dr. Graziela Rodrigues and funded by FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation). He coordinates the CNPq Research Group BPI Process: Training and Creation in Dance of Brazil and the BPI Laboratory at UFSM. Since 2010, he has also been a member of the CNPq research group BPI and Dance of Brazil and of the BPI Center, both based at UNICAMP. He holds a Bachelors degree in Performing Arts (2008) from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). He has experience in the field of Arts, with an emphasis on the study and development of the BPI Method, creative and educational processes in the performing arts, and research on dances of Brazil and their movement matrices. His work also includes the following areas: dance-theatre, installation theatre, physical theatre, performance, physical preparation, movement direction, and art direction.
