I hold a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Comparative American Studies from the University of Warwick (1987), a Master's in History (Comparative Literature) from the University of Warwick (1988), a Master's in Computation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science Technology - UMIST (1993) and a Doctorate degree in Science and Technology Policy from the State University of Campinas- UNICAMP (2001). I am currently an associate lecturer and researcher in the Information Science Department, at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), S.P., Brazil. I teach and supervise on the postgraduate programme in Library and Information Science (PPGCI-UFSCar) and on the interdisciplinary postgraduate programme in Science, Technology and Society (PPGCTS) at the same university. I was the Coordinator of the Working Group for implanting UFSCar's Institutional Repository.
