Cassio Scarpinella Bueno

CASSIO SCARPINELLA BUENO is Associate Professor of Civil Procedural Law (2005) in the Undergraduate, Specialisation, LLM and PHD courses at the Law School of Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), where he acts as a Professor since 1995 and was granted with PHD degree in 1998 and LLM degree in 1996. He was Visiting Scholar at Columbia University of New York (2000/2001), where he developed a comparison study between the American class action and the Brazilian collective actions Professor Scarpinella is also member and President of the Brazilian Procedural Law Institute (IBDP), member of the Iberoamerican Procedural Law Institute (IIDP) and member of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL). As an Author, Professor Scarpinella wrote 23 books on Civil Procedure law. Among them there are a complete Civil Procedural Law course in 3 volumes and a Manual on that topic, designed especially for undergraduate students. Professor Scarpinella wrote more than 110 chapters for collective works. Some of these initiatives deal with the intersection between the civil procedure and the civil, commercial, economic, administrative and tax laws. He also coordinated the publication of several books along with another scholars. The most recent are Provisional measures (2nd edition, 2018) and Comments on the new Brazilian Civil Procedural Code in 4 volumes (2017). He contributed for collective works published in Santiago (Chile) and Montevideo (Uruguay). He is also the author of more than 100 articles published in specialized law reviews in Brazil and in foreign countries, some wrote in English, Italian, French and Spanish.
